VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Holiday Fun Party!
This event has changed from Volunteer at Our Youth Matter 4th Annual Spread Holiday Joy Adopt A Family Reception to Our Youth Matter Holiday Fun Party. We have invited 200 children and parents to come have fun with us
Saturday, December 22, 2018, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Help is needed checking people in, craft area, hot cocoa bar, candy/dessert bar, and book area.
Volunteers are needed starting at 10:00 am to help unload and set up and 1:00 - 2:00 pm for clean up and break down.

Can you adopt A Family?
It's not too late to help a family this holiday season. Our goal is to help 25 families this holiday season. If you would like to adopt a family please fill out the form below

Our Youth Matter families come from our yearly outreach events. These families are low- income, underserved and in need of a little extra help.
How it works:
- You determine the size of the family you want to adopt.
- Fill out the info. form above by clicking on Form here
- Receive a need and wish list for each person. This includes parents.
- Purchase items within your budget
- Get friends and family to help
- Drop off items and meet the family at our Spread Holiday Joy Adopt A Family reception on
- December 22, 2018, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm in West Oakland
Spread Holiday Joy Adopt A Family reception is on December 22, 2018, in West Oakland. The reception will, appetizers, hot chocolate and dessert bar, free books, craft, and toy area.
Other ways to help if you not ready to take on a whole family:
- Contribute to Our Youth Matter 3-5 families. You will receive a list of items needed and you purchase what you can off the list.
- Purchase gift cards to places like Walmart, Target, Safeway, Food Maxx, Visa gift card etc.
Ways for churches, businesses, co-workers or other places where there are multiple people can help:
- Put up a donation box and collect money
- Get an angel tree. We will select a family, and attach there needs and wishes to a tree. Your members or clients select a tag and buy the item and return to you by a preselected date.
If you signed up to help at the Spread Holiday Joy Reception on December 22, 2018, we will email you more information. Help will be needed to check people in, help get them seated, kitchen help, work a station such as craft, toys or book area.
