Event Details

Houston Arts Alliance is gearing up for Transported + Renewed, a three-month celebration beginning this September and taking place throughout Houston’s historic East End. This celebration is made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts’ Our Town grant and is aligned with the centennial of the Port of Houston, as well as the inauguration of the Houston METRO East End Light Rail Line. Transported + Renewed will be a huge undertaking, but in short, it is focused on the city’s fascination with movement, vibrancy and transport in an artful and healthful manner. In addition, there will be a bold mix of community-based and contemporary arts projects surrounding the theme of transport.

Describing Transported + Renewed as colossal would not be an understatement, which is why we need your help! Join us and volunteer your time! It will be a great way to get involved or continue involvement with Houston’s arts agency, as well as explore historic East End.

Houston Arts Alliance

Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) is a local arts and culture organization whose principle work is to implement the City of Houston’s vision, values, and goals for its arts grantmaking and civic art investments. HAA’s work is conducted through contracts with the City of Houston, overseen by the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. HAA also executes privately funded special projects to meet the needs of the arts community, such as disaster preparation, research on the state of the arts in Houston, and temporary public art projects that energize neighborhoods.

In short, HAA helps artists and arts nonprofits be bold, productive, and strong.
