About this Event

Founded in 1985, Project Open Hand is a nonprofit organization that provides meals with love to critically ill neighbors and seniors. Project Open Hand’s mission is to improve health outcomes and quality of life by providing nutritious meals to the sick and vulnerable, caring for and educating our community.

VOLUNTEER DETAILS

Shift Information: Volunteer needs often involve handling meat and dairy products. If this is an area of sensitivity, we kindly recommend individuals abstain from volunteering.

Release and Liability Waiver: You will need to fill out and sign a volunteer release and liability form prior to arrival to Project Open Hand.

Age and Dress Requirements: It is important to note that all volunteers must be 15 years or older and follow the dress code:

Closed-toed shoes

Shirts with sleeves (no tank tops)

Full length pants (no shorts/capris/ skirts, etc.)

A hat to cover your hair (if you do not want to wear a hair net)

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to this shift to sign in on the first floor. Shift will begin with an orientation once all group members are checked in.

Parking and Transportation: Reserved parking is not available at Project Open Hand. If you are driving, nearby parking options include the Civic Center Garage and the 1000 Van Ness Garage.
