Event description

Description

We are putting out a call for willing volunteers to help with trail work on certain days throughout the spring. We have a lot of trails on the reserve that are maintained with the help of generous folks that like to get out and contribute with some good old hard work in the dirt. The work primarily involves digging with the use of a Pulaski or MacCloud. A typical day means hiking to the section of trail we will be working on, doing several hours of tread work with a stop for lunch then hiking back to home base. We have enough tools to accommodate a maximum of 12 people working with two Reserve Stewards. The work requires that you arrive with sturdy shoes, a container for water, lunch and snacks, and clothing for variable outdoor weather. The plan can involve a single day visit or the potential to camp overnight and do a free-hike on the reserve the next day. After sign ups are completed, questions regarding details can be directed to Mark Readdie, the Reserve Director.

Dates are April 29, May 19, June 9 and July 8. Sign up by clicking the "Select A Date" box in the upper right portion of this page.
