Description

We are seeking skilled volunteers to commit one full-day to help the Food Bank connect with our Summer Food Service Program sites during their first week of operation. The volunteer monitors will support the work of the Food Bank as it acts as a sponsor of the USDA and PA Department of Education (PDE) administered Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Each volunteer will assist with conducting in-person monitoring visits to one of our 80 Summer Food Program sites providing food to kids throughout Allegheny County to ensure sites are in compliance with USDA regulations.

Volunteers should arrive at the Food Bank at 8:30am.

8:30 am - 10:30 am: Training (light refreshments will be provided)

10:30am - 1:30pm: Drive to assigned site to complete the required monitoring

1:30pm - 3:00pm: Report back to the Food Bank for a late lunch and report back on site observations

All volunteers must have completed clearances for state and federal criminal and child abuse background checks. Clearances should be submitted to sfsp@pittsburghfoodbank.org no later than Monday, June 24, 2019. See below for more information.
