Event description

Description

Join King Conservation District and Duwamish Alive Coalition, and celebrate Earth Day with Duwamish Alive! Become a champion for our Puget Sound Orca and urban wildlife by helping improve our natural habitat sites which support the salmon that Orca depend upon. The Green-Duwamish Watershed is home to 5 species of salmon which spawn in its streams and creeks including the threatened Chinook Salmon that are the primary food for the Southern Resident Orca. By helping to improve and maintain the health of our natural areas, you are also improving the air and water quality throughout our watershed.

We will be working at a buffer habitat restoration site on Longfellow Creek in West Seattle. We will meet at Greg Davis Park and walk to the project site up the trail.

The event will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather and wear clothes and closed-toe shoes/boots that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy.

Tools, gloves, water, hot beverages, and snacks will be provided. Please bring water bottle, travel mug, and lunch.

All ages and experience welcome!
