Event description

Description

Join us for an afternoon outdoors. Enjoy hands-on activities such as weeding, planting, and creating habitat structures that will enrich our environment and leave you with a smile!

Arastradero Preserve has expansive oak woodlands and grasslands that house an abundance of wildlife including deer, bobcats, coyotes, and various species of birds. We are currently working to improve habitat along Arastradero Creek by raising the groundwater table through the installation of swales, berms, and low step structures, as well as replacing invasive plants with natives.

When/Where:

Every month on the 2nd & 4th Saturday from 9 am -12 pm.

Arastradero Preserve located at 1530 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto. We will meet at the buildings next to the parking lot. Carpool, bike, or walk if possible. Volunteers should park in the adjacent parking lot to avoid overcrowding the main lot.

Who: Minors under 18 require an online waiver, and children under 12 require an accompanying adult.

Please bring: A reusable water bottle and clothes for the outdoors. Depending on the weather this can be sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, layers, rain gear, and a hat are recommended. Grassroots Ecology staff will provide gloves, tools, and snacks.

**If you registered and can no longer attend or have any questions, please email: melisa@grassrootsecology.org.**
