Volunteer: Armed Forces Retirement Home
Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (AST)
Washington, D.C., DC
Join us as we plant 50 trees around the Armed Forces Retirement Home. We will be planting several ornamental trees of Korean origin along a special section of newly renovated trail to honor veterans of the Korean War. We will also be planting native shade trees around the grounds of the newly constructed Scott Building. Getting There Make your way to the entrance of the Armed Forces Retirement Home on Rock Creek Church Drive and follow the Casey Trees event signs to the registrations on the Retirement Home grounds. There is plenty of on-street parking. Alternatively, the Georgia Ave/Petworth Metro Station (Green/Yellow Line) is a 0.8 mile walk and the H8 Metrobus line stops right out front! Requirements
Meals Volunteers are welcomed in the morning with a light breakfast. A celebratory lunch is provided at the conclusion of the event. Casey Trees will supply drinking water throughout the event. Group Registration Are you a volunteer group manager? Do you want to register a large group of volunteers for one or more events (5 or more individuals)? Groups cannot sign up all of their registrants on this page, but we are happy to work with you to get volunteers registered at this event or other events this season. Register online now. Support Casey Trees Casey Trees relies on the support of friends, neighbors and volunteers like you to make our work possible.
