This six-session course features two sessions each from three diverse voices within the modern rabbinate:

Wounds Into Wisdom: Reclaiming meaning and purpose after tragedy and trauma

Rabbi Tirzah Firestone, PhD., Jungian psychotherapist and author, is a leader in the international Jewish Renewal Movement. She will share her insights and experience living with personal tragedy and describe the historical effect of trauma on the Jewish psyche.

Creating Change in the Jewish Community

Rabbi Sarah Bassin, MHL, Associate Rabbi of Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, is a leader in Jewish innovation and înterfaîth advocacy. She will guide us in re-imagining interfaith work 'beyond kumbaya', and applying the wisdom of Jewish tradition to important political and social issues.

Toward Deep Encounters with Spirit-Moving, Soul-Satisfying Prayer

Rabbî Yael Saidoff, MA, AMFT, will guide us in creating meaningful prayer experiences using religious text, spiritual wisdom, and clinical insights. She will inspire us to reflect on the awesome possibilities of deepening our relationship with the Source of Life.

Class Length: 6 sessions on consecutive Sundays in November and December

Class Dates: 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1, 12/8

Meeting Time: 7:00-9:00pm

Class Location: UCLA @ Hillel or Online via Zoom

Parking: UCLA Lot #2, Westholme and Hilgard Aves, $8 after 4:30pm
