Description

Jazz superstar Wycliffe Gordon and His International All Stars is the headliner of the United States portion of the binational 'Voices of Freedom Festival'. The show with an opening act of WNY musicians called 'The Conductors' will commemorate and celebrate the United States' significant Black history and highlight the ongoing journey to freedom by revisiting the past through music performed by one of the world's best musicians. Through the arts the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area has teamed up with the Canada's BravoNiagara! and the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center to create this first binational festival.

General admission is $20.00. VIP tickets with reception prior to the show are FREE, but you must be nominated as a 'Champion of Change' here: Nominations must be in by Friday, September 22, 2017.

The 'Voices of Freedom Festival' strives to foster intercultural dialogue and raise awareness of the historic and cultural contributions made by people of African descent and specifically the Niagara area's extensive Underground Railroad history. The festival will include educational musical performances, symposia, and free interactive programming for youth. Stay tuned for the full festival schedule! Niagara Falls National Heritage Area's 'Voices of Freedom Festival' is also raising awareness for the new Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Area and their new heritage facility located at the old US Customs House, 2245 Whirlpool Street, Niagara Falls, NY.
