About this Event

PLEASE NOTE: Participation in the Voices of Experience meetings is restricted to UTILITIES-ONLY. If you have any questions please contact Kevin McGrath at kmcgrath@sepapower.org. Non-utility registrations will be canceled.

If you are currently working at a utility exploring the use of microgrids for resiliency, attend an this workshop to learn firsthand what other utilities are doing, ask questions and share your own experience.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will convene utilities at Utility Conference for peer-to-peer conversations on how utilities are leveraging microgrids to improve resilience.

There is no cost to attend, but you do need to register.

The Voices of Experience:

The Voices of Experience initiative was launched by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Advanced Grid Research group (DOE|AGR) to capture the experiences, insights and lessons learned from the utilities at the forefront of implementing emerging technologies. Resilience – the ability to withstand, respond to, and recover rapidly from utility disruptions while sustaining mission-critical operations – is increasingly a focus for utilities, policy makers, regulators, and community leaders. While some utilities own and operate microgrids to help ensure supply to critical customers and areas, customers such as the Department of Defense and corporate data centers also own and operate microgrids to prevent power disruptions and to mitigate the consequences of outages when they do occur.

DOE has teamed with the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) to bring you Voices of Experience | Microgrids for Resiliency. Utility personnel from across the company including engineers, executives, and planners will find value in participating in the workshops and peer-to-peer discussion. The final report will capture the collective voice of participating utilities for the purpose of sharing industry knowledge about this emerging technology.
