Share Voices For Change Town Hall Meeting to Prevent Underage Drinking

Event Details

The purpose of the Town Hall Meeting is to increase community awareness on the issue of underage drinking, identify how underage drinking affects the community, and brainstorm possible solutions. The meeting will provide an opportunity for parents, teachers, officials, youth, and other community members to voice their concerns and suggest ideas for preventing young people from using alcohol.

YCAT is the substance abuse prevention coalition for the City of Virginia Beach. It is staffed and supported by the Prevention Unit of the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services Community Support Services Division. The coalition is based on the nationally recognized Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) model. As set forth in the CADCA model, YCAT members represent the 12 segments of our community including Law Enforcement, Fraternal/Faith Groups, College/Schools, Youth, Families/Parents, Youth Serving Agencies, Other Organizations involved in Reducing SA, Government Agencies with Expertise in SA, Media, Health Care Professionals, Businesses, Civic and Volunteer Associations.
