KEVIN SHORT
Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera and others. Since the late 1990s, Short has worked actively with opera houses internationally. From 2001-2004 he was a member of Theatre Basel, singing such roles as Landgrave in Tannhäuser, Mephistopheles in Faust, Oroveso in Norma, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, Seneca in L'Incoronazione di Poppea, and Simone in Gianni Schicchi. In 2003 he made his debut at the Vienna Volksoper as Leperello in Don Giovanni. He appeared in the original production of William Bolcom's A Wedding at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in January 2005. He has also appeared as a guest artist with the Bern Theatre, the Canadian Opera Company, the Houston Grand Opera, the Indianapolis Opera, the Los Angeles Opera, the Michigan Opera Theatre, the Opera Company of Philadelphia, Opera Omaha, Opera Pacific, the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, the Santa Fe Opera, the Sarasota Opera, the Seattle Opera, the Vancouver Opera, the Washington National Opera, and the Zurich Opera among others.

Recent performances include Escamillo in Carmen, Mario in La Leyenda del Beso, Germont in La Traviata, Juan en Los Gavilanes, Tony in The Most Happy Fella, Alfonso Xl in La Favorita, Silvio in I Pagliacci next to Jose Cura at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Operatic Recital next to Aprile Millo in Canada and recital tour next to Arianna Zuckerman and Dido and Aeneas at Teatro Isabel la Católica in Granada Spain.Gustavo Ahualli was born in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina. He began his musical training at age of seven with Hilda Deniflee, a student of Kodály and Bartók. He received his “Maestria en Canto” from the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon moving to the United States he was named first-prize winner of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera Competition. While in New York City he served as a bilingual cantor for Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and for the Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica in Newark, NJ.Mr. Ahualli is an AGMA and NATS member and currently lives in Washington, D.C. where he serves on the Voice Faculty for the Department of Music Performance at the School of Music, Drama and Art-The Catholic University of America and as voice instructor for Levine School of Music.
