Event description

Description

In this unique, hands-on, intensive course, you will learn and practice communication with seriously ill patients and their families in a community of your peers, led by facilitators experienced in the VitalTalk evidence-based learning method. We’ve been perfecting this small group learning for over a decade, and we have extensive evidence showing that it enables clinicians to acquire new communication skills.

VitalTalk is a nonprofit that specializes in developing and facilitating advanced communication skills and faculty training courses to promote honest and compassionate communication about serious illness.

The VitalTalk Bay Area Regional Mastering Tough Conversations Course gives clinicians tools to discuss prognosis and goals of care.

*Physicians, nurses, physician assistants, social workers, chaplains, and others who care for seriously ill patients are encouraged to attend.

*The course is designed for clinicians from a range of specialties and care settings, including primary care, hospital medicine, cardiology, oncology, geriatrics, neurology, critical care, and palliative care.
