Event description

Description

Discover the potential of 3D printing, the cutting-edge technology that allows artists to create unique objects of completely original design. Inspired by the centuries of jewelry on view, from ancient Mediterranean bracelets to recent statement pieces, Keary Rosen, Instructor in the Department of Art, Culture & Media and Director of Form Design Studio and Lab at Express Newark, will lead students in transforming basic shapes and scanned objects from the Museum collection into one-of-a-kind personal jewelry pieces to keep. Rosen, an interdisciplinary artist experienced in many media, will provide instruction and support for using simple software and 3D printers along with molding and casting and other jewelry techniques.

Meets for 8 sessions Thursdays from September 28 through November 9, 2017.
