OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS OF KYCOM & KYCO

Join the KYCOM Student Advocate Association, KYCOM Mental Health Committee, KYCOM American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Club and UPIKE Pride Club, for a two-part series on maintaining healthy relationships during professional school and beyond featuring keynote speaker, Susan Perkins of Pfeiffer University.

This dynamic and interactive series geared towards professional students in a relationship or those that desire to be in a relationship, will equip participants with a toolbox to overcome some of the biggest challenges in relationships during professional school and beyond. Come alone or come with your partner!

Friday 10/4 will begin the series, with a part-two to follow on Saturday 10/5.
While we recommend attending both parts, you are welcome to RSVP to one or the other.

  • FREE event (includes meals)
  • FREE on-site childcare available (please purchase a ticket with childcare included)
  • Dinner will be served starting at 5:30pm on Friday 10/4, with our speaker beginning at 6:00pm and closing out by 9:00pm
  • Breakfast will be served starting at 8:45am on Saturday 10/5, with our speaker beginning at 9:15am and closing out by 12:00pm

About our Keynote Speaker:

Susan Perkins joined Pfeiffer University as Clinic Director and Associate Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016. Susan earned her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech in 2010. She was awarded AAMFT's Dissertation of the Year for her dissertation focusing on client factors in couples therapy. She is licensed in Idaho, Michigan, and North Carolina. She is a Clinical Fellow of AAMFT and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor candidate. Susan served as President of the Idaho Association of Marriage and Family Counselors and President of the Idaho Counseling Association.

Susan previously lived in Missouri, Texas, Virginia, and Idaho. Susan, her husband, Ross, and their two children, Esther and Amelia, live in Apex, NC. When she is not supervising, administrating, teaching, networking, or researching, Susan is usually reading to her girls or brainstorming new party plans with Esther.
