Description

LogoMay's Vital Cafe is organized and presented by the Vitals Signs Youth Committee.

Special Guest, Dawn Johnson, Sustainable Community Development and Project Specialist, joins May's Vital Cafe to toss the small talk and break into community conversations about the BIG issues affecting our community but in a worldwide context.

The theme, "How can we fill Whistler's empty stomachs?", focuses on recognizing hunger as an issue in Whistler. Join us for lively conversation, refreshments and snacks.

Inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in 2019 the Community Foundation of Whistler is hosting regularly scheduled monthly Vital Cafés open to all community members.

Vital Signs is a community check-up conducted by the Community Foundation of Whistler that measures the wellness of our community. The Vital Signs strategy is to generate and expand on a culture of community engagement. It is based on the premise that a strong community is one that is mobilized and invested. The objectives are to build knowledge, understanding, connections, and participation through a range of activities and initiatives.

Vital Cafes are regularly scheduled conversations that take place in a small group format, open to all community members. Each café focuses on a different theme that looks at a big issue facing Whistler in the context of the greater global community. Vital Cafes aim to maximize opportunities for meaningful connections, learning and expression in a less formal way.
