Event description


If you are an apprenticeship or job training program this is an excellent opportunity to speak directly to 2,200 High School students who are looking for a career.

Most students don't know what an apprenticeship is let alone know details about your program. We encourage you to participate and bring up awareness of apprenticeships "the other 4-year degree".

There are many ways to participate in this day-long event:

1 - A career speakers session with 30-120 students.

2 - A class-specific speaking sessions with a class related to your apprenticeship program.

3 - A group Q & A panel with other apprenticeships with 30-120 students.

4 - A table at the apprentice expo during lunch (11:30-12:30) - Recommended for all groups participating.

5 - A hands-on activity or demonstration in the main quad with a group of students.

6 - An industry advisory and roundtable session with instructors, counseling and program coordinators.

You can choose one or all six depending on your availability. While the expo portion is open to all groups, speaker and panel sessions have limited spots. The speaker sessions are about 45 min of talk and interaction time (a class period).

For each participant in the Expo portion at lunch:

You will be provided with a 3ft x 6ft table with 2 chairs and you are free to bring any materials, flyers or displays that you need to use. If you have a standard table size display for trade shows - the table is about the same size as most convention facilities.

If you have special needs such as power or have complex setup (such as a booth), please contact us prior to the event day so we can accommodate your needs.

The Expo is held outside in the main quad during lunch with all 2,200 students present.

For participants in the speaking sessions or panels:

You are free to bring any materials, flyers or hand-outs and are encouraged to do so. You can show slides, videos or websites as we have a projector, sounds, and internet in all venues and classes.


Do I need a ticket for each member of my group?

You only need to register one person in the group. We will be contacting you to get the names of the those attending in your group prior to the event. You are reserving a table with your ticket.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There will be parking available to participants in our campus lots. Please indicate if you need more than one parking space. There will be room up front in the parking lot to unload materials or equipment.

What can I bring to the Expo portion of the event?

You are encouraged to bring hand-outs, flyers and other materials. You should be bringing table covers or backdrops that identify your organization to the students at a glance. If you want to bring a larger setup such as a 10x10 tent or a van/coach, please contact us so we can make the proper preparations.

What happens if it rains that day?

If we get rain - we can move the event inside the gym at lunch. We will give you notice in advance of the venue change.
