The goal of the program is to educate girls and female adolescence on reproductive health by promoting healthy options, risk associated with unprotected sex, and continued efforts of lowering the teen pregnancy rate. The programs core competencies are to focus on helping program participants to define self-worth (positive-self concept, hopefulness, and setting future goals), social skills which entails problem-solving, emotional competence, empathy, and understanding their worth. Victory In Sustaining Abstinence is a series of modules facilitated by women professionals that are licensed or certified or women that can teach from personal experiences on the various topics that are discussed in these workshops.
The VISA program was created to be informative and fun by encouraging engagement and interaction from program participate while allowing participants to receive reward points as they progress through this program. Throughout the duration of modules program participants are able to obtain credits (incentives) which will be applied to their VISA cards (provided by Women Just Like Me Foundation). At the end of each 5 week module those points accumulated allows them to receive gifts and a certificate that represents completion of the 5 week module.
