Event description

Discover how to achieve greatness by bringing out the greatness in others.

Join internationally acclaimed author Alexandre Havard, the co-founder of the Virtuous Leadership Institute, for a full day seminar exploring the heart and soul of true leadership.

Mr. Havard will give and in-depth course on the principals and foundations of Virtuous Leadership — authentic leadership rooted in the classical virtues and characterized by magnanimity & humility (greatness & service). Havard will be joined by the Executive Vice President of the Virtuous Leadership Institute, Cameron M. Thompson, an organizational psychologist, to deliver a practical approach for putting Virtuous Leadership into action with your team.

Leaders are not born, they are trained. And yet, leadership is not a matter of technique, but of character, of real and concrete virtues put into action when leaders achieve greatness by bringing out the greatness in others.

Virtuous Leadership...

  • Ignites a powerful desire and capacity for genuine leadership — achieving greatness in service to others — as a way of life.

  • Achieves measurable results through Applied Virtue using evidence-based practices.

  • Provides a vision and practical framework for personal growth in the human virtues of prudence, justice, courage, self-control, humility and magnanimity.

  • Elevates the individual to the leadership mindset of virtue ethics instead of the mere compliance mindset of rules-based ethics.

  • Produces the type of leadership that can truly transform organizations and teams, leading to a culture of respect, trust, healthy communication, responsibility, creativity, decisiveness, inclusion, and awareness of the dignity of others.

What matters most in leadership?

Even though technical skill and temperament are important, what matters most in leadership is character.

  • All strengths and weaknesses in an organization begin and end with real people.

  • Whether issues of team effectiveness, communication, creativity, motivation, ego, talent management or client relationships, the common factor is human character.

  • The root of the most significant challenges we face day in and day out are on the human level — issues that can be addressed effectively only by applied virtue.

Virtuous Leadership is fundamentally and essentially human leadership

“‘Leadership is about character, not technique.’ A simple, yet profound lesson from the Virtuous Leadership seminar, founded by Alexandre Havard, that changed how my team thinks about their role as leaders. Many leadership programs focus on tactical skill sets and tools. The Virtuous Leadership seminar offers substance and drives to the core of what true leadership entails. It’s a practical approach that can be applied at all levels of an organization.”
Phil Sotok, CEO, VentureSource

The Virtuous Leadership Institute is transforming life, culture, and business by advancing an approach to leadership capable of meeting the highest demands of human nature and the noblest aspirations of the human heart.
