Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference 2015

Online event
Description
Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education is a peer-reviewed community event focusing on education in immersive virtual environments. This open conference is organized by educators, for educators, to provide an opportunity to showcase the learning that takes place in this community of practice.
Over 3,300 people from 45 countries attended our last conference in April 2014. There were 80+ presentations in three days including keynote addresses by Ebbe Altberg, CEO of Linden Lab and Philip Rosedale, Second Life creator and CEO of High Fidelity.
This year VWBPE will be holding the conference in multiple virtual world locations for the 3rd year in a row. While Second Life’s virtual environment will still be hosting the main venues, other locations may include OpenSim and other “non-traditional” virtual world environments which are capable of supporting presentations, discussion forums, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops.
Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education is a meaningful way for presenters to share their research and experience about the rich learning systems in virtual worlds and games. This free online conference is produced entirely by volunteers. Conference proceedings are published as the Journal of Virtual Studies by Rockcliffe University Consortium.
In just the past several years, over 60 hours of video footage has been captured and has been made available free to the academic community in addition to other video broadcasts, with thousands of views.
Join us and be a part of this amazing one-of-a-kind conference!
