About this event

Join us Tuesday, June 7th from 3:30-5pm Pacific Time for a virtual wine tasting event with Ted Osborne, owner and wine maker of the highly acclaimed micro-winery in Calistoga (Napa Valley), Olabisi. Mr. Osborne will take us on winemaker-guided tour of all things wine tasting, followed by a Q&A session where participants can ask any burning questions they've always had about wine!

Registration for this event is completely free (taste your own wine), or kick it up a notch and taste one or more of Olabisi's highly sought-after wines! Olabisi means limited production, and are handcrafted wines from one-of-a-kind vineyard sources tended by uncommonly talented farmers. With a miniscule production of under 1,000 cases per year, Olabisi is able to pay attention to each of their wines as individual expressions of the truly incredible vineyards from which they're sourced.

Optional wines for tasting:

2020 Sauvignon Blanc ($40)

HARVEST: Mid September 2020. Brix: 24.4°. VINIFICATION: We like to ferment the SB in a combination of small stainless steel barrels and neutral French oak. We also use a wide variety of exotic yeast strains to bring multilayered complexity to the blend. ELEVAGE: 7 months, sur lees. ALC: 14.5%. PRODUCTION: 95 cases.

2017 Proprietary Red Wine ($45)

Blend: 61% Napa Merlot, 26% Zinfandel, and 13% Napa Petite Sirah. Alcohol: 14.7%. Production: 121 cases

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon ($85)

HARVEST: Mid October 2016. Brix: 26°+. VINIFICATION: A studied blend of Napa Cabernet vineyards, including some from the Picnic Vineyard, some from the Miller Family Vineyard, and even a touch of Black Pearl for good measure. A delicious wine that shows off the sheer ripening power of the Napa Valley sunshine, with juiciness, suppleness, velvetiness, and incredible drinkability in an elegantly structured style that only Napa Cab can do. Fermented primarily on native yeasts, punched down by hand in open top fermenters, and gently pressed directly to 75% new French oak barriques, where the wine matured for 18 months before we bottled it unfiltered. ELEVAGE: 18 months in barrel, 75% new French Oak. ALC: 14.8%. PRODUCTION: 101 cases.
