Event description
Workshop participants will learn how to create watercolor art using watercolor pencils.

About this event

This is a two day workshop held on June 14th and 15th from 1pm to 4pm on both days.

In this workshop, children will learn how to use watercolor pencils to create their very own watercolor art. They will learn how to layer the pencils to create watercolor paintings from this unique medium. This workshop allows kids to explore the medium of watercolor in a simple and easy way. This is a great opportunity for kids to try a different style of painting and learn a new set of skills.

Supplies for this workshop are provided and will be available for pick up at Lincoln Memorial University's Art Building in Cumberland Gap, TN or shipped to you at your own cost. More information about supplies will be made available once you register for the event. This workshop will be held over Zoom so please make sure you are able to join us on Zoom during the workshop date and time. This workshop is intended for participants ages 8 to 13.

Scholarships are available.

Zoom Rules:

Just like in person workshops there are rules everyone must follow to ensure a safe and educational environment is achieved. Please look over the rules below and make sure you understand what is expected of you as a participant.

- Please keep your mic muted if you are not speaking. This helps limit background noise and allows others to focus.

- Please do not make unnecessary comments or cause distractions while your instructor is teaching. Be considerate of the time of your teacher and those attending the workshop.

- If you have a question use the raise your hand function or type it in the chat box. Please remember that everyone can see your message. Do not say anything you don’t want the entire class to know.

- Please do not use inappropriate images or profanity of any kind in chat, on video, or through audio features. You will be removed from the Zoom call and it is at the discretion of your instructor if they wish to let you back into the workshop.

- Please set up your workspace before the workshop. If your workshop requires supplies set them up beforehand so your workstation is ready to go when the teacher is.

- Please be on time for your workshop. We understand if things come up but being on time limits distractions and helps everyone stay on task. It is also helpful to know if you are on time and accounted for.

- Remember that your appearance matters. Please make sure there are no offensive images or words on your clothing. We want you to look and feel your best during your workshop. Please make sure you look presentable with your hair and clothes neat.

- Remember to be kind and considerate of others. Not everyone is in the same place you are. Be patient and remember that we are here to learn together.

- Be aware of your background and make sure you aren’t moving around during the meeting. Stay in one location to avoid distracting others as well as yourself.

- Please make sure the device you are using Zoom on is charged or plugged in, so you do not have to get up and do that later.
