Virtual Trauma-Informed Yoga
Event Information
About this event
Trauma-informed yoga is based on a particular understanding of trauma, one that emphasizes its impact on the entire mind-body system. The hour long class is open to sexual assault survivors, anyone supporting survivors, and professionals working to support survivors with their healing. The class is accessible to all levels, including those needing to modify and/or practice in a chair. You will be guided through the practice with invitational language alongside a well rounded mix of physical movement, breathing, & mindfulness practices. Each class will conclude with Yoga Nidra, a deeply nourishing and relaxing guided meditation into the relaxation response.
Upon registering for the workshop, you will be given access to the Zoom link and password for you to anonymously attend in the safe and private virtual space. Please note, if you wish to register anonymously with your initials, you may do so. Upon virtual arrival, you'll be greeted by the host with the option of not ever turning on your video or audio. If at any time you need a space to ground, pause, or seek further support, our hotline will be available at 845-340-3442.
