Event description
A legendary landscape in the heart of the city

About this Event

Bukit Laranggan or Forbidden Hill was the abode of the Sultans of Singapore in the 13th century. This seat of power was abandoned only to be found about 300 years later by the British in 1819 who built a fort on the hill to protect the new settlement.

Today it is known as Fort Canning Park which is a green sanctuary within the city of Singapore but it’s presence is still an enigma to many. Join us for a virtual walk where we will share about the fascinating tales of the ancient royalties who lived on the hill; the century old structures and relics; the priceless treasures that lies beneath the ground, the wonderous botanical appeal of the herbs and spices and the gentle botanical giants that witnessed it all.

Let’s immerse in the beauty of the greenery and history of Fort Canning Park where it all began for this island centuries ago.

This tour is brought to you by the CRTS and guides Cynthia and Jeremy.
