Virtual Reality (VR) in Cancer Imaging
Event Information
About this Event
BIOLAB at OICR invites you to join a free educational seminar and demonstration on Virtual Reality (VR) application in cancer imaging.
Suil Interactive Ltd.,VR software company (MAXT CRUK grand challenge fund), in partnership with Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, UBC Cancer Centre, and others, has developed a virtual reality software that allows scientists to better visualize, diagnose and understand tumours. The company will hold a free demonstration on their recent Project Theia, a Virtual Reality (VR) Cancer Research Lab.
ABSTRACT
Virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), and augmented reality (AR) are not just for gamers. They are fast-emerging tools that integrate data, image processing, communication, and interaction between cancer related biotechnologies, drug discovery, and the medical world. Using VR viewers, imaging styluses, and software for tactile and multi-dimensional designs, researchers are now trying to integrate genomic and imaging data to create spatial molecular cartography of cancer with “deep markings” that allow to virtually “touch-and move “molecules, predict responses and design drugs.
EVENT DETAILS
The event provides opportunities for software developers, programmers, computational biologists, researchers, students and health professionals to:
• meet the VR software developers
• participate in software demonstration with real VR experience
• learn more on how VR and AI can be conceptualized, synergized, and used in image based clinical tasks
