Join us for a virtual Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training on September 21, 2020!

About this Event

Farming is a very complex occupation that comes with a unique set of challenges and stressors. While famers are resilient by nature, sometimes the stress of farming can weigh heavily on them and they may develop anxiety, depression or even suicidal thoughts. Often times, the first person they share these concerns with are trusted friends or people that they see regularly on their farms such as ag business representatives, consultants, services providers and other farmers.

According to the QPR Institute, their “mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training.” This QPR training, hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), is specifically designed to help anyone who works with or comes into contact with farmers on a regular basis to better respond to a farmer in crisis and potentially save their life. Details of the training include:

• Open to anyone that works with farmers including, but not limited to, farmers, organization representatives, consultants and agriculture service providers.

• The training is FREE! The deadline to register is one hour prior to the event.

• 100 seats are available.

• Jeff Ditzenberger will serve as the licensed QPR trainer. Jeff is an agriculture/mental health advocate, Wisconsin farmer and active member of many agriculture organizations and groups.
