Virtual Piscopia Event at University of Edinburgh
Event Information
About this Event
The University of Edinburgh's Piscopia Society are hosting an informal "listen while you tea" presentation to give you tips on how to survive your current studies and share with you how your enjoyment of your current studies could translate to interesting research opportunities afterwards. There will also be plenty of time for you to ask questions and speak with female PhD students about their experiences as women in mathematical research.
The event will take place via Zoom on Thursday 11th March, 13:00-14:00 and is aimed at women and non-binary penultimate to final year undergraduate and MSc students in mathematics or related disciplines, but everyone is welcome to attend.
Here's what we'll be covering:
13:00: Acing your dissertation & keeping up morale
13:15: What is research in mathematics? Why is it worth considering if I enjoy mathematics now?
13:30: Applying to postgraduate research programmes
13:40: Q&A
Hopefully see you then,
Mary, Rachel and Tiffany
