Join the Prince George’s County Planning Department for the West Hyattsville-Queens Chapel Sector Plan (WHQC) virtual open house on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. It will be offered in both English and Spanish (see Spanish Text Below // texto en español abajo), to hear preliminary findings from our existing conditions analysis—focusing on the baseline conditions in eight categories: land use; economic prosperity; housing and neighborhoods; healthy communities; natural environment; public facilities; community heritage, culture, and design; and transportation and mobility — and participate in a virtual Q&A session where you can ask questions of your community planners.

Located along Queens Chapel Road (MD 500) and anchored by the West Hyattsville Metro Station, the WHQC sector plan area encompasses 1,081 acres including portions of the City of Hyattsville, the Town of Brentwood, and the City of Mount Rainier within Councilmanic District 2. This sector plan will replace the 2006 West Hyattsville Transit District Development Plan (TDDP), and include recommendations to advance the goals of Prince George’s County’s Plan 2035. Throughout this plan process, we will explore existing opportunities and challenges in the area, and work with the community and stakeholders to develop new strategies for growth.
