Greater New Orleans STEM Virtual Mardi Gras Workshop sponsored by Chevron will offer students and teachers the opportunity to grow STEM skills, knowledge and become more aware of career opportunities in a variety of STEM fields including, but not limited to Robotics and Engineering. Participants can expect a fun and busy two days which offers a virtual “hands-on” STEM learning, team building and critical skills in reasoning and analytical thinking that will offer students important career skills. No prior experience is needed to participate, however, a computer device with a camera and internet access is needed.
This year's Virtual Mardi Gras STEM Workshop will be a two day session.
Be an inventor of Mardi Gras!
- February 17-18 (10:00 am- Noon) Suggested Grades 3-7
- Explore and investigate the engineering behind Mardi Gras floats. Learn how to create a float that rolls and structures to better see the parades.
All materials needed for the hands-on activities and experiments will be provided in a materials kit in advance of your scheduled workshop.
