Virtual Fund-a-Thon for New York Abortion Access Fund
Event Information
About this event
On Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 PM EDT, New York advocates for reproductive health, rights, and justice will have an opportunity to gather in the spirit of mutual aid, information sharing, and joyful fun. The New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) is proud to host our eleventh annual Bowl-a-Thon, for its first time ever as a statewide virtual event. Though this will be a new kind of event, we hope it will continue Bowl-a-Thon's legacy as a meaningful gathering of people committed to ensuring abortion access for all.
At the virtual Fund-a-Thon, NYAAF supporters and allies will participate in a mocktail/cocktail lesson, sexual and reproductive health trivia, have the chance to win prizes, and learn more about how NYAAF supports folks across New York and works in partnership to eliminate barriers to abortion access. As COVID-19 necessitates finding creative ways to connect from a physical distance, supporting one another remains as important as ever. Abortion funding has always been mutual aid, and our longstanding, powerful network of community care offers important tools during this time of deep emergence in mutual aid networks.
We invite you to join our celebration donning your favorite sexual and reproductive health-wear, showing off any NYAAF gear you already own, or wearing a totally new costume creation in the name of bodily autonomy. Prizes for trivia and most enthusiastic dressing up will be provided by Shag Brooklyn and others.
We're asking for a suggested donation of $10 per participant, but all are welcome. Please make your $10 donation here.
If you want to get involved and become a grassroots fundraiser, it's not too late! Make a team with friends and family, and let's get together (from afar) to show up for folks seeking abortion care. You can sign up as a "bowler" here.
We look forward to seeing you there, drink in hand, to toast abortion access for all!
RSVPs close on Friday, May 15 at 11:59 PM ET.
