During this time when we are all staying home for the greater good, science still goes on. To be able to continue to discuss how it's received in the world, we've transformed our monthly happy hours into weekly fireside chats, held over Zoom.
Join us this Tuesday, May 19, from 6-8 PM EST for our sixth chat! Open to scientists and science advocates of all ages and backgrounds.
THIS WEEK BY THE FIRE: Without science, our society would not be where it is today; we would not have vaccines, electricity, or even the technology delivering this message. Until 2017, federal agencies supplied most of the funds to support basic science research that has often led us to these innovations. Grant writing plays an essential part of all researchers' careers - who receives funding determines what and how science is done. How has this shaped the scientific community? What gaps still exist in our funding mechanisms?
Let's chat!
