Event description
Rome-Zurich: *Virtual* Dinner Confidential

About this Event

Dinner Confidential offers a warm, brave and judgement-free space for women and female identifying folk to come together and talk with vulnerability and honesty about our most personal topics and emotions.

Each month we investigate a different social topic globally such as failure, sexuality, courage, etc. through intimate dinners (6-8 people max) and then share the learnings with our community.

You can read our stories via Medium or our website.

Monday 25th from 7 pm - 8.30 pm (CET time)

Transforming is part of life. It can happen unexpectedly and be unwanted (like having an accident) or it can be intentional and sought after (like embarking on a spiritual journey). A lot gets stirred during these times.

How do we cope with all the emotions?

How do we show up in our worlds with our new beliefs and behaviors?

How are we received by others?

Let's share and listen to our transformation/growth stories — they can be something small like adjusting our diet or something big like transforming our values or sense of identity.

This dinner will be hosted virtually over Zoom and is free to join.

Since the VIRTUAL nature of this gathering transcends geography, this is an opportunity to grow and intertwine communities around the world.

We also have the pleasure of bringing together CO-HOSTS Alessandra Patti and Julie Beretta

A little bit about Alessandra:

About Alessandra

Italian yet adopted by Switzerland for the past 11 years, I found out about Dinner Confidential last summer by coincidence. I wanted an enriching “girls only” space where everyone would be able to speak up. Indeed, speaking up matters to me so much that I've made a career out of it, founding FindYourWay Coaching in 2018; a virtual coaching practice on assertiveness skills and mental wellbeing. I'm also an instructor for mental health first aid as well as a passionate reader and dancer.

A little bit about Julie:

French-American-Italian with bits and pieces of my heart scattered across continents, I made Rome my home again just a few weeks before the lockdown.

Joining Dinner Confidential at that time was a blessing. It gave me the sense of belonging I needed to feel equipped for this important life transition.

Passionate about yoga and sustainability, I have just launched The Sustainable Practice and wish to continue opening more spaces for idea sharing through vulnerability and active listening. I believe challenging the status quo collectively via deep, meaningful and respectful conversations is where change begins to take place.

**While everything said at dinner remains strictly confidential, there are a few exceptions to this rule. Specifically, we may disclose confidential information when we judge that there is a strong possibility of serious harm being inflicted by you on another person or on yourself. In these instances, local mental health professionals may be contacted. Please keep in mind that Dinner Confidential is a brave space for women to come together and share their stories, but is not a replacement for therapy. Upon request, we have a rich resource list of local therapists, hotlines and therapy groups for any interested guest.

Do attendees know each other?

  • Sometimes. But usually they don’t and that’s part of the magic. Coming into a place full of strangers to open up and share some of your most personal experiences is very powerful. No one there knows your history, you are a blank canvas. People won’t judge you or give you advice (unless you specifically ask for it). We are there to listen, share and connect.

Do I need to prepare for the Dinner?

  • A little bit! Your hosts will send all the details of the night via email, including a few questions for you to reflect upon prior the Dinner. All Dinners start with an intimate set of introductions, where each guest share her stories and is deeply heard.

How do you keep confidentiality?

  • We include a vow of confidentiality in our invitation, and reiterate the importance of confidentiality at the start of each dinner. We create a strong container of trust and integrity, and expect the same of all of our participants.

What makes DC different from a women’s circles?

  • Our secret is our hosts and the stories we tell! Our dinners are led by professional moderators, researchers and facilitators all around the world. Brilliant women with years of experience conducting challenging conversations amongst diverse groups of people. We’re less about the woo-woo, and more about the raw, real and impactful conversations with tangible insights for our guests and community to take action and implement within their daily lives.

What do you mean when you say “women”?

  • Anyone that is female identifying. Inclusivity is one of our core values! We welcome women of all ages, colors, religions and backgrounds. If you are male identifying and would love to attend a dinner, let’s talk.

What’s your cancelation policy?

  • We put a lot of love and effort into these dinners so please, even if the dinners are virtual, do your best to avoid a last minute cancellation. If you need to cancel, try to find a replacement.
