Event description
Join Kuluntu Bakery for a virtual babka baking class! Learn how to bake a pumpkin & chocolate babka while sipping a seasonal cocktail

About this event

Join Kuluntu Bakery for a virtual class where you will learn how to bake a seasonal pumpkin & chocolate babka. We'll also be whipping up a festive cocktail or mocktail while our babka proofs.

During this workshop, you will learn:

  • How to mix brioche dough. We'll have two recipes for you to choose from: one leavened with sourdough starter and one with instant yeast. Choose your own baking adventure!

  • How to create a chocolate filling

  • How to shape, proof and bake your babka loaf and babka knots

This is a two part class:

Part 1: On Friday, October 22 we will send you a video teaching you how to mix your brioche dough as it requires an overnight fermentation in the fridge. This step is fairly quick and can be done at any point on Friday. For this step, a stand mixer is highly recommended.

Part 2: On Saturday, October 23, we will meet on Zoom to finish the process and make a cocktail together!

Each attendee will receive a recipe packet (sent out one week before class) and live, guided instructions to make one babka loaf, several babka knots and a seasonal cocktail together.

Looking forward to baking with you!

Tickets are refundable up to seven days before the class. Profits will help build a non-profit bakery that will be focused on creating a more equitable food system through a culinary training program for women.
