We are the Illinois Brewery Running Series and we run for beer!

Since we can't all come together right now, nothing is stopping us from being active, having fun, and giving back VIRTUALLY!

Run a 5K that starts and ends at Goose Island and receive free beer, swag, coffee and fun!

How does this work?

1) Sign up for this event

2) Follow the link to join our Illinois Brewery Running Series Goose Virtual Run Club on Strava - (https://www.strava.com/clubs/gooseislandvirtualrun) Don't use Strava for your runs? No problem. As long as you record every run, walk, or jog on a mobile app (Strava, Nike+, Garmin, MapMyRun, Etc.) you are good to go. Strava is free to join. No need to sign up for the Summit Membership on the app. 

3) Between June 1st and June 30th, run a 5K (more on that below). For the run/walk that you complete, send or tag us in a post-run picture, we will count your run towards your completion of the 5K.

4) Head to the brewery you signed up for and receive all sorts of fun prizes (more on that below) and cheers to you!

What's included?

-An awesome recommended course that starts and ends at the brewery: We will design a course that showcases the neighborhood, just like you would have experienced at the in-person event. You do not have to do this course if it is not safe for you to get to that neighborhood. 

-A $6 credit towards a to-go order of $20 or more at the brewery: The brewery will have the registration lists of people who are signed up for the given brewery event and we will be in touch with the specific ways to redeem your credit as each brewery is handling to-go orders slightly differently.

-A Signature Swag Item: Just like at our in-person events, you will receive a fun swag item. The brewery will hand this to you with your to-go beer order. Each brewery will have a different item, so if you do all five events, you’ll get five unique items. Coasters, Pint Glasses, Slap Koozies, the list goes on and on of fun stuff you will receive!

-A FREE can of RISE Brewing Co. coffee: We've partnered up with RISE Brewing Co. since they too like to brew delicious beverages. They have generously donated a free can of their brew to all participants in each challenge and you will receive that at the brewery with your to-go order as well!

-Growler from the Brewery for the Male and Female registered participants per event with the most miles between June 1st and June 30th.

-Zoom Happy Hour and Entry into the Giveaways: Our event was normally scheduled for Wednesday June 3rd at 6:30pm in honor of Global Running Day. We will continue to still celebrate virtually with a virtual happy hour! At this Happy Hour, you will be entered into complimentary giveaways and we will also have fun special guests at the events! 

We are all about being active, having fun and giving back to our local community. Since our inaugural event (the Brewery Running Series was founded in Minnesota in 2012), we have been able to donate over $160,000 back to local nonprofits. This event will add to that tally! 10% of all proceeds goes directly to Chicago Run and Chicago Parks Foundations, awesome local organizations that make Chicago a great place to live. So not only do you get to a little exercise and enjoy a great beer, you are contributing to our awesome community!
