Description

Virginia Jaguar Club’s Annual Kickoff Meeting Saturday, January 21st 2017

On the heels of a successful meeting last year, we are once again retuning to the Virginia Historical Society Museum on the Boulevard in Richmond. The Historical Society has several great exhibits that are open to the public with charge for admission. The meeting just happens to be the day before the closing of the paid exhibit "the Private Jefferson." if there is enough interest in a group tour, we can arrange for the same. My favorite is still The Story of Virginia, which is one of their permanent exhibits. http://www.vahistorical.org/, which is free to all those attending the meeting.

The museum opens at 10:00, so come early! We plan to start the meeting in the Halsey Lecture Room at 10:30.

Here is what we have planned in addition to helping map out the direction of the VJC for 2017 and beyond. Please join us for a wine a cheese reception prior to the formal meeting. So that everyone can better enjoy the Museum, we though a boxed lunch would be great. You will be able to choose from a selection of serval sandwiches, a wrap or a salad. The fixed cost will be $12 per person if you are interested in lunch, which includes a side and drink. While boxed lunch tickets are available for purchase now, we will send out the choices in January. At the conclusion of the meeting, and even before, please take the time to tour the Museum. If you have never attended before, your will find it to be a jewel of Richmond and Virginia.

In the event you are traveling a distance and would like to further make it a day, there are many other things to do in Richmond, but the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is right next door with a short walk, which also has many free exhibits open to the public.

So, please join the VJC for a great opportunity to welcome 2017 and help set the course for other VJC events for 2017. This is the time to bring your suggestions for other activities the everyone can enjoy, including scenic drives, wine tastings, dinners and whatever else comes to mind.
