Description

Join the Virginia Club of New York for a riveting panel on Data Ethics with moderator Phil Bourne, Dean of UVA's newest school, the School of Data Science!

The School of Data Science envisions itself as a "school without walls," connecting individuals across fields and geographic areas to advance the rapidly growing field of data science.

In a modern age abundant with data, how do we begin to tackle long-running ethical questions about privacy protection and information usage?

Dive into this fascinating topic with panelists:

- John Nisi (ENGR '98) of Microsoft

- Khurrum Malik (CLAS '96, COM '03, DAR '07) of Blink Health, Compass, and Facebook

- Christine Hung of Flatiron Health, Spotify, and Apple

- Elizabeth Roodhouse (CLAS '05, GSAS '06) of Vivar, Blue Apron, and Google

Admission includes light hors d'oeuvres and an open beer and wine bar. Members may purchase a maximum of two tickets at the member rate.

This event is #open to all alumni, family, and friends.
