Virginia Center for the Book: Annual Wayzgoose Celebration
Saturday, August 24, 2019 – 1:00-6:00 PM

You're invited to a FREE community arts event featuring letterpress printing and bookbinding demonstrations, an exhibit of artist’s books, a roundtable discussion, and a reception. Known as Wayzgoose, the event is an annual end-of-summer gathering for printers, binders and book artists.

Acclaimed Central Virginia book artists Amy Arnold, Kerri Cushman, and Lyall Harris will exhibit their work at the event and participate in a roundtable discussion on book arts, moderated by Molly Schwartzburg, curator of the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library, U.Va.

All are welcome!
There is no charge for the Wayzgoose Celebration, although free registration is required to attend the reception that follows the book artist's discussion.

Schedule of events:
1:00-3:30 Member demonstrations of printing and binding techniques and an exhibit of artist books
3:30-4:30 Roundtable discussion on the topic, “When is bookmaking art and when is it craft?”
4:30-5:45 Reception
