This educational opportunity is centered around music played on instruments recovered from the Holocaust. The music is surrounded by the lessons learned from the tragic outcomes of all types of hate crimes, ranging from bullying to genocide. It juxtaposes humanity’s ability to create beauty with humanity’s ability to destroy. It contrasts beauty with evil.

The Violins of Hope have been featured in books, print, film and television. They have been used in lectures and educational programs and their stories and messages have impacted hundreds of thousands of individuals. They have been played in concert halls and exhibited in museums throughout the world

Across the globe, Northern Arizona is the first semi-rural/rural area that will host this opportunity. 1,800 high school students from Coconino County, Hopi, and Navajo high schools will have the opportunity to attend the Violins of Hope on February 28 and March 1, 2019.
