Vintage Living Lesson: CELLAR!
Wed, October 18, 2017, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM CDT
One of the most rewarding parts of backyard gardening is the harvest! It can also be the most daunting. Months and months of hard work culminates in piles of gorgeous and delicious fresh vegetables…and the clock is ticking before they turn into piles of rotting compost. Learn tricks to putting away the late fall harvest whether it’s from you own backyard or the farmer’s market. With the help of urban homesteading expert Diane Lutzke, we’ll take late fall veggies and learn how to root cellar them all winter long (even without a cellar). Forager Chef Erik Paulsen will feature recipes for taking what you’ve stored away and putting together full meals without ever stepping foot in the grocery store (perfect for those snow days just around the corner).
Each class focuses on a vintage skill taught by an urban homesteading expert and recipes taught by Forager's Head Chef Erik Paulsen. Classes include hands-on learning, cooking demos, recipes, connections to local farmers and artists and a whole lot of fun (and freebies).
