The wine enthusiast knows that March means touring the nine wineries along the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail for a month of food and wine pairings and wine education.
The 2016 Vino in the Valley passport program (formerly known as the March Passport Program) along the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail involves purchasing a passport for $35 and visiting each of the wineries during the four weekends in March (5 & 6, 12 & 13, 19 & 20, 26, 2016*). Event hours at each winery are: Saturday - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday - noon - 5 p.m. (*Please note: Our wineries will be closed on Sunday, March 27 for the Easter holiday.) Only 1,800 passports are printed, so get them while they last.
As you visit our nine wineries you will receive delicious wine and food pairings (tasting sized). Have your passport will be stamped at each member winery you visit.
Once your passport has been stamped at eight of the nine member wineries, fill out your contact information at the bottom of the passport, tear it off, and turn it in at the last winery you visit in order to be entered to win one of 30 $25 Lehigh Valley Wine Trail gift certificates. (Visit our web site for the list of our member wineries.) Each passport holder will also receive a gift. The 2016 gift is a wine trail t-shirt.
It is recommended that you plan to visit no more than three wineries a day so you can get the most enjoyment out of your experience without being rushed. Plan to stop at a local restaurant along the way.
We strongly recommend that a member of your group serve as its designated driver to allow you to travel safely from winery to winery.
Since our wineries are all family-owned and operated, we each have our own set of house rules. So please check with individual wineries if you have any questions about their policies.
In order to improve the experience for all of our event passport holders, the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail has Group Guidelines for this event. Our nine wineries will not accept commercial vehicles of any type (buses, limos, vans, etc.) during weekends in March. If you are traveling by private passenger vehicle in a group of 8 or more, appointments are required at any wineries you plan to visit. Please call ahead to the wineries on your route to make those arrangements at least three days in advance. Thank you.
How the Vino in the Valley Passport Program works:
Purchase a passport for $35, either in person at one of our 9 member wineries, or online here. Passport program participants must be age 21 or older. (All online passport orders are mailed via first class USPS within one week of your order. A digital/virtual ticket for this event is NOT available. You will receive and must use the printed event passport mailed to you.)
During the weekends of March 2016 (Saturdays and Sundays, except for 3/27 due to the Easter Sunday holiday), visit our member wineries to enjoy a food and wine pairing (tasting sized) and have your passport stamped in the corresponding winery box on the front. Pick up your passport holder gift at the winery that corresponds to your passport number per the list on the passport.
Get stamps from at least 8 of our 9 wineries before filling out your contact information on the bottom of the front side of the passport.
Tear off and turn in the completed portion of your passport at the last winery you visit in order to be entered to win one of 30 $25 wine trail gift certificates in the Grand Prize Drawing. The drawing takes place 4/15/16. Winners will be notified by mail and their names posted to our web site, Facebook page, and blog.
