Event description

Description

Vincent Bohanan & The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir, affectionately known as “SOV,” is a young adult community choir based out of Brooklyn, New York comprised of 60+ young adults from throughout the tristate area. Through their Gospel music, Bohanan and the singers offer a message of hope throughout the city and abroad.

28-year-old visionary, Pastor Vincent Bohanan, who also writes all of the choir’s music, founded the choir five years ago inspired by his dream to one day have his own choir. Bohanan, who nurtured his musical virtuosity as a young child, has been fortunate enough to have been mentored and has developed his credentials into a list of accomplishments. His musicianship has afforded him opportunities to play for Gospel for Teens with the Mama Foundation of the Arts in Harlem, the Lincoln Center, New York City Fashion Week, National Black Caucus, Rockefeller Center and international ministry affiliates in South Africa.

SOV has received acclaim for their 2016 live recording, “One Sound Live,” charting in the top 5 of the Billboard music charts for the hit single “He Reigns;” featured musical guest on a multi-city international tour and performed with Grammy Award winning artists such as Bishop Hezekiah Walker, P. Diddy, Cece Winans and Mariah Carey just to name a few. All of which resulted in the choir receiving two Stellar Award nominations and signing a deal with Hez Record Label, under RCA Records.

Although music is what unites SOV, it is the heart’s desire of their leader, Pastor Vincent Bohanan, to see people healed, delivered and set free that serves as the driving force allowing him to continuously push the choir, and all who are drawn to the music, to seek a deeper relationship with God. The songs they sing are not only sung to foster a sense of hope in the hearts of the listeners ear, but they also serve as the content for the choir to vow to the Lord as they move forward in ministry.
