NICOLAS MAZMANIAN

Born in Marseille, award-winning composer and pianist Nicolas Mazmanian started to play the piano at age 6 and went on to study at the conservatories of Marseille and Rouen. He has won first prizes at the international chamber music competition Henri Sauguet of Martigues.

He then entered into a partnership as composer with the Orchestre Régional de Cannes PACA, conducted by Philippe Bender and Lionel Bringuier, for four consecutive seasons.

The Czech National Symphony commissioned and recorded on CD his William Conrad suite for orchestra in 2003; the Orchestre Régional de Cannes commissioned his “Diasporama” (2007); and the Marseille Opéra Philharmonic Orchestra commissioned his four Movement's Symphony (2010), under the direction of Guy Condette. Additionally, Ensemble Pythéas has commissioned several chamber works from him.

He also recorded as a pianist on a CD of work by major Argentinian composer Carlos Guastavino.

His recent fantaisie for Mandoline and piano commissioned by Vincet Beer-Demander is published by « Les éditions d'Oz » Quebec.

VINCENT BEER-DEMANDER

As a Mediterranean instrument, Vincent Beer-Demander's mandolin has seduced the greatest French composers, Francis Lai, Michel Legrand and Claude Bolling, who have strong ties with Hollywood and America.

His meeting with Lalo Schifrin established a "French connection" between its two cultural poles, Provence and Los Angeles. With Nicolas Mazmanian, a pianist and composer from Marseilles that the Los Angeles public has acclaimed twice in 2016, he presents for the first time in the US this unprecedented program with the highlight the worldwide creation of a movement of the Concerto for Mandolin By Lalo Schifrin.
