Watch films and live performances about the Vietnamese refugee experience as witnessed from the 1.5 generation of artists and innovators.
Friends, Fans, and Enthusiasts: Come join us to celebrate the inaugural Vietnamese Focus Exhibition, which has been on display for 8 months in Santa Ana! We want to thank you for your support as the exhibition closes on February 29 and travels to other locations.
Exhibition, panels, film screenings and live performances and FREE & open to the public. Be part of the lively discussions and enjoy delicious FREE food catered by DOS CHINOS!

PROGRAM:
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM | Film + Social Media Panel, followed by Q&A
Moderated by Linda Trinh Vo, Viet Focus Co-Curator
Duc Nguyen (Emmy-award-winning filmmaker) will screen excerpts from his films Bolinao 52, Stateless,and Mediated Reality. Maria Tran (President of Sea of Solidarity and Social media technology professional)will share her innovative efforts to collect refugee stories and her advocacy work to raise awareness about current refugees.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM | Food Reception
Complimentary food & refreshments catered by Dos Chinos & Sit Low Pho. Growing up in Santa Ana, Dos Chinos & Sit Low Pho owners Hop Phan and Viet Tran were influenced by the Mexican and Asian cuisine all around them. Combining the two styles, they have created their own spin on dishes that are thrilling Californian foodies.
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM | Performance Art Panel, followed by Q&A
Moderated by Tram Le, Viet Focus Co-Curator
Trieu Tran (Hollywood actor and stage writer & performer) will perform an excerpt from his one-man play, Trieu Tran Unplugged. Lan Tran (award-winning writer and performer) will perform excerpts from her one-woman performance pieces.

VIETNAMESE FOCUS: Generations of Stories showcases the diversity of the Vietnamese community in Orange County, California, the largest outside of Vietnam. OC Parks in partnership with the UC Irvine Vietnamese American Oral History Project (VAOHP) present this exhibition, which includes interactive features, photographs, documents, artifacts, ephemera, original artwork by Trinh Mai, and oral histories from VAOHP and the UCI Libraries Orange County & Southeast Asian Archive Center (OC&SEAA), as well as materials from private collections.
The exhibition and all related events are FREE & OPEN to the public.
