Before the Boot Camp

This one-day boot camp will equip you with basic skills to create engaging training videos that cost next to nothing. Using your cell phone and laptop, you’ll create a 90 second sequence video by the end of the day.

This boot camp is packed with loads of content. To give you the best bang for your buck, we’re delivering some of the content as short video seminars before you arrive.

The pre-work videos are compulsory and enable us to spend more time during the boot camp doing practical exercises. (Allow 60 to 90 minutes to watch these videos, take notes and practice some of the skills.) You’ll be required to watch:

  • Digital Learning Ecosystem

  • 4 Types of Video

  • How to Shoot Awesome Video with a Cell Phone

  • Video Production Process

  • What Makes Effective Training Videos

During the Boot Camp

During the boot camp, participants will be engaged in a series of discussion and intensive practical exercises where they learn and do the work of making a 90 second video. The video will be a sequence video shot by participants during the boot camp. The boot camp experience is intensive and involves a semi-structured experience that allows individuals to learn at their own pace.

After the Boot Camp

After the boot camp, participants will be sent a weekly “Recap” video to help them keep their news skills fresh and up to speed. The seminar follows the Rapid Media Technique for Video to ensure training videos are engaging, produced quickly and affordably. Each participant will receive a digital or print copy of a specially crafted workbook that can serve as a reference after the boot camp.

Participant Requirements

Participants are required to bring a smart phone with video camera, a laptop with editing software installed on it. And to have completed the pre-work videos. Participants should have basic IT skills.
