Event description
A thoughtful and purposeful combination of Yin yoga and poetry to guide you into your heart space, to release the old and embrace the new.

About this Event

Yin is a slower practice of yoga that allows us to feel the full range of sensations during a pose, which translates into us as learning how to slow down and feel across all areas of our lives.

Yin is also cooling, calming, and introspective, which allows us to dive deeper into our own hearts and minds. We take time to reflect on what each pose presents to us during stillness, and consciously release that which no longer serves us. With new clarity, we find the courage to step-up in claiming the things we truly value.

In traditional Chinese medicine, yin and yang are opposites that exists together in symbiosis, the light in the dark, so to speak. This is the teaching of embracing all aspects of ourselves to free oursleves from pain and heartache. To love ourselves fully and live our highest truth.

If you are someone who is always moving, who 'can't keep still', (whether mentally or physically or both) this is the event for you. This practice of yin and stillness calls our awareness to those places within us that we often overlook when we are constanly moving. Combined with inspired poetry and a lyrical investigation into the victorious fact of your existence, this experience will offer a safe space to quieten your monkey mind and simply, beautifully be. With the synergistic energy of the group, the potential for deep shifts and insights is vast.

As we gently release tension in the body the mind follows, and vice versa, and which creates space for us to rewrite our internal stories to live more from our hearts. When we live from this place of love, we feel more connected to ourselves and others, which ripples into all areas of our lives.

Shared by special guest Gabriella Salmon - an award-winning poet and writer, qualified counsellor, and dedicated yogic facilitator- the words of wisdom and poetry that will accompany each pose will guide you into a space of deep appreciation for all levels of your own being. This event is truly yoga for the whole being, not just the body.

The yoga practice will be led by Brydie O'Halloran, founder of Younion Yoga and qualified yin yoga teacher. Brydie was introduced to yoga and meditation at the age of 13 and has been exploring the philosophy and practices of yogic traditions, both as a student and teacher, ever since. As a grounded and pragmatic, yet still welcoming and compassionate guide to the asanas (physical poses) for this event, Brydie will make sure your physical practice is safe, accessible, and well-rounded.

A nourishing, nurturing, and non-discriminatory event, this is a space for all bodies, all abilities, and all genders. Come solo or bring a friend or loved one. Please bring a water bottle and your own mat if you have one, otherwise we have some available for use.

We look forward to sharing this experience with you.
