About this event
The Australian X-ray Analytical Association (AXAA) and Monash X-ray Platform (MXP) are pleased to be hosting a joint event, The AXAA & MXP Victorian X-ray Symposium. This is an in-person symposium at room G29/G30 on the ground floor in New Horizons building at Monash University, 20 Research Way, Clayton.
We have a fantastic line up of keynote and invited speakers. In addition, AXAA invites students and ECRs to submit abstracts for presentations or posters:
- from all institutions and career levels (undergrad, Honours, Masters, PhD, postdoc),
- from all science disciplines,
- to present results where any X-ray or neutron technique has been used to support your research.
Present in a very friendly environment and go into the running to win prizes! Contact ausxray@gmail.com to submit your abstract by Monday 13th October 2025.
The symposium will provide a unique opportunity for researchers who have accessed MXP facilities (and others around Victoria) to showcase their research and outcomes. It is also an opportunity for prospective users to hear about the wide range of techniques and capabilities at MXP, which comprises a suite of diffractometers and SAXS instruments, as well as a surface chemical analysis instrument. MXP has been evolving rapidly in the last several years with introduction of high-end versatile instruments, such as NanoSTAR SAXS machine and HRXRD Rigaku SmartLab diffractometer. MXP continues its expedition with new techniques, such as X-ray CT, and new lab space. There will be more news at the upcoming symposium!
The Victorian X-ray Symposium is proudly sponsored by AXT, Australia’s leading supplier of high technology scientific equipment for sample preparation and analysis for academic and industrial applications, and Australian representatives for Rigaku, TESCAN and many other leading brands.
In addition to invited speaker and student talks and posters, this event will include:
- The 2025 AXAA Annual General Meeting (streamed online)
- A round table discussion with researchers from a wide research community for the future MXP technique/capability planning
