Event Details

Celebrate Spring with a Victorian-style Afternoon Tea at the Haas-Lilienthal House. Relax and immerse yourself in Victorian splendor while sipping on classic blends of black, green and herbal teas served from silver pots by costumed "household help". Enjoy delectable tea sandwiches, housemade scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, and jam, along with delicious mini desserts and rich chocolates from local artisan chocolatier Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates. Docent-led tours of the newly renovated interior will be offered after tea service.

Proceeds benefit the continued maintenance and restoration of the Haas-Lilienthal House under the direction of San Francisco Heritage.

Period costumes are always encouraged, but not required.

Please notify us at least 5-days before the event if there are group seating preferences or food allergy concerns.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Parking in the area is very limited – generally to 2-hour street parking only, so we recommend carpooling and public transportation if possible. The Haas-Lilienthal House does not have public parking space. If you do drive in, there's a parking lot nearby on Jackson Street between Van Ness and Polk Street. (2 blocks away). Also, we are located 1-2 blocks from a Muni stop. The closest stops are at Jackson and Van Ness (47, 49,) and at Franklin and Clay or Sacramento (1).

Visit the “Trip Planner” of the website for help planning your trip!

BUS: We are near Muni bus lines:  1, 12, 19, 27, 47 & 49.

BART: If you are taking BART, exit at the Civic Center station and either take a cab to Haas-Lilienthal, or walk down Grove or McAllister through the Civic Center area to Van Ness Avenue, and catch virtually any northbound bus (the near side of the street as you reach Van Ness.)  Get off at Jackson, and walk one block west to Franklin – the HLH will be in the middle of the block on the west side.

CABLE CAR: We are 4 blocks from the end of the California Street Cable Car line, at California & Van Ness.  If you take BART from the East Bay, gey off at the Embarcadero BART station and hop onto the Cable Car at Drumm & California Streets.  This line ends at Van Ness. From the end of the line, walk 1 block west, and 3 blocks north (1 block uphill, the rest is pretty flat).

Is my registration/ticket transferrable to another date or timeslot?

Due to limited seating and table arrangements per slot, tickets are generally non-transferrable but will be assessed on a case-per-case basis. Our maximum capacity for this event is 50. Please contact Terri Le (415.441.3000 ex22 or to determine if space is available for a different day and/or time slot.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, your general information can be updated (i.e. name, email, phone number, etc.).

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We encourage you to have a printed ticket or mobile ticket ready. There will be a registration list available at the door to check-in guests.

What is your refund policy?
