Victim Assistance Program
Each year, Victim Assistance Program supports over 6,000 Summit County residents who have been victimized by a crime or trauma. From hardship to healing, an advocate will stand alongside a victim to help them navigate through the emotional, physical and financial aftermath many victims experience.
Victim Assistance Program’s founder, Dr. Rev. Robert Denton is responsible for creating one of the first victim programs in the United States. Since 1972, our services have been replicated across the United States, have impacted legislation and helped to co-found the National Organization for Victim Assistance.
Victim Assistance Program is the only Summit County agency that responds – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – to the scene of the crime when requested by any emergency response agency. In addition to crime scenes, advocates provide services in hospitals, the victim’s residence, the court room and in our offices.
For further information about our services, visit our website, www.victimassistanceprogram.org or call our office (330) 376-0040.
