OVERVIEW

Recent studies indicate that emotional intelligence (EQ) is a powerful tool and key to effective leadership. This program is designed to help you understand how you best contribute to your practice using emotional intelligence as the language to assess your leadership strengths and challenges. By harnessing your EQ, you can lead with greater impact and better manage and drive peak performance from your team. Throughout this interactive workshop, you will gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills you need to ensure that you are a strong, emotionally intelligent leader. Registration includes 12 hours of RACE CE.

PROGRAM DETAILS

The program will run from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, covering the four domains of EQ and specific competencies. Our workshop is highly interactive, including small group exercises, time for reflection, and skill building. Each attendee will receive a workbook to use throughout the weekend along with personal EQ assessment results.

This unique retreat is unlike any other continuing education event and is well suited for those in leadership positions.

SPEAKERS

Shawn McVey is the Chief Cultural Officer at VGP and takes tremendous pride in helping practices define their culture through his dynamic emotional intelligence and conflict management training. Through his no-nonsense approach, he will put into words things attendees may have been feeling for a while. His education and experience in psychology, social work, and therapy have been the secret sauce that allows him to tap into the root of practice conflict and bring it to the surface. His expertise gives participants the tools to acknowledge and solve these problems, creating a culture of belonging, inclusion, and safety.

Rachel Teichberg is the Head of Learning & Development at VGP, consulting with veterinary practices nationwide and helping to grow and support the coaching team. Culture dynamics is a major component to running a successful practice and Rachel brings her experience in her own emotional intelligence journey to train hundreds of veterinary professionals to increase their emotional awareness and make new choices to drive improved performance at work. Rachel is a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner, a Certified Trainer in Workplace Conflict Resolution as well as a Certified Workplace Mediator.

  • Identifying your personal relationship management barriers that contribute to practice challenges
  • Strengthening your social awareness and personal relationship competencies to transform your leadership style

PERSONAL ASSESSMENT

All participants will take an emotional intelligence assessment prior to the workshop giving you personal insight on areas of strengths and opportunities to improve. Your assessment results will be provided to you at the conclusion of Friday night's session. Please be sure to register each person with their own unique email address to ensure assessment invites are delivered to the correct person.
